Kitchen Appliances

The hob, cutting board, toaster, wood-stoked oven, sawmill and maple spile — what each one takes and how long it needs.

Simply Cozy’s kitchen is built out of blocks you interact with by right-clicking rather than GUIs full of slots. This page covers what each appliance accepts, what it gives back, and how long it takes.

The Coffee Machine, Coffee Grinder and Fermentation Barrel have their own pages.

The hob

The hob is the busiest block in the mod. It has three attachments you place onto it — a Cooking Pot, a Kettle or a Cooking Pan — and each one unlocks a different set of recipes. It lights itself while cooking; there is no fuel to feed it.

Sneak-right-click with an empty hand to take an attachment back off. A pot, kettle or pan that is busy only comes off while sneaking, so a stray click cannot dump what is in it.

Kettle — tea

  1. Right-click with a Water Bottle (not a bucket) to fill it. The glass bottle comes back.
  2. Right-click with Roasted Cut Tea Leaves to start brewing.
  3. The kettle whistles after 5 seconds and is ready after 25 seconds.
  4. Right-click with an Empty Cup to pour a Cup of Tea.

Cooking Pot — spaghetti and jam

Fill it with a Water Bucket first (the bucket comes back). From there the pot commits to one of two recipes:

  • Spaghetti — add Raw Spaghetti, optionally Tomato Sauce, and it cooks for 30 seconds. Right-click with a Bowl to serve either a Spaghetti Bowl or a Spaghetti Bowl with Tomato Sauce.
  • Jam — add Sugar and one berry, in either order: Blue Berries, Grapes, Strawberry or vanilla Sweet Berries. It cooks for 15 seconds. Right-click with an Empty Jar to take the matching jam out.

Once the pot has started down one path the other’s ingredients are refused, so you cannot end up with tomato-sauce jam.

Cooking Pan — frying

  • Sliced Chicken, Bacon or an Egg cooks in 15 seconds into Cooked Sliced Chicken, Cooked Bacon or a Cooked Egg.
  • Batter cooks in 20 seconds into a Pancake, which you collect with an empty hand — no sneaking needed.

The cutting board

Place an ingredient on the board, then click it with a knife (wood, stone, copper, iron, gold, diamond or netherite) to cut it. Sneak-click takes the item back off uncut.

Most of what comes off a cutting board is sandwich filling.

The toaster

Put up to two Slices of Bread in, then click the toaster to switch it on. After 15 seconds they come out as Roasted Slices of Bread. Sneak-click to take the bread back out — doing that mid-toast cancels it. You cannot load bread while it is already running.

The wood-stoked oven

The oven roasts Cut Tea Leaves into Roasted Cut Tea Leaves — 20 seconds a batch. It burns logs for fuel: it holds up to nine logs, each worth 30 seconds of burn time, and the block model shows how full the log stack is.

The sawmill

The sawmill is a stonecutter for wood: one input, a list of options, pick one. All of its recipes are data-driven, so a resource or data pack can add more. There are over 250 of them by default, covering most of the mod’s wooden furniture.

It doubles as a villager job site. A villager who claims a sawmill becomes a Lumberjack, a profession Simply Cozy adds, with five levels of trades in logs and saplings.

The maple spile

Put a Glass Bottle in the spile and wait. Every 2 to 5 minutes it turns one bottle into one Maple Syrup, and it keeps going as long as bottles are stocked and the output has room. The block model changes to a “filled” look while syrup is waiting to be collected.

There is an Iron Maple Spile too — it behaves identically, it just looks different.

Note that the spile does not need a maple tree; Simply Cozy has maple leaves and a decorative maple tree statue but no maple log to tap, so the spile can go anywhere.

The induction hob

The Induction Hob is a full hob with a modern look — same pot, kettle and pan attachments, same recipes and timings as the standard one. Pick whichever suits the kitchen you are building.

Decorative appliances

These exist as blocks with proper models and hitboxes, but have no recipes behind them yet: the Blender, Mixing Bowl, Deep Fryer, Waffle Maker, the fridges and the kitchen counters. They are there for the kitchen to look right.

The Kitchen Sink is nearly in that group — right-clicking it splashes and plays a water sound, but it does not fill or empty anything.

The Kitchen Cupboard is the exception: it is where you build a sandwich.
