Food and Nutrition

Every edible item in Simply Cozy, with its exact hunger and saturation values and any effect it applies.

Simply Cozy adds a lot of things you can eat and drink. This page lists what each of them is actually worth.

How to read the numbers

Minecraft food has two numbers, and the second one is not what most wikis print.

  • Nutrition is hunger points restored — 2 points is one drumstick, 20 is a full bar.
  • Saturation modifier is the number written in the mod’s code. The saturation you actually get is nutrition × modifier × 2, and it is then clamped to your current hunger level (so it can never exceed 20, and never exceed how full your hunger bar is).

Both columns are given below so you can compare with either style of table. A food marked always edible can be eaten on a full hunger bar.

Crops and produce

ItemNutritionSat. modifierSaturation restored
Cauliflower30.251.5
Lettuce20.31.2
Strawberry30.21.2
Blue Berries30.21.2
Grapes20.31.2
Chili Pepper20.10.4

Chili Pepper gives Speed I for 5 seconds on top of its food value. Everything here eats at the normal 1.6-second speed.

Baked goods and breakfast

Pancakes181.864.8 (clamps to your hunger bar)
Cornbread60.67.2
Waffle60.67.2
Roasted Slice of Bread30.42.4

Pancake20.20.8

Jams and spreads

All four jams are identical in value, and everything you can spread them on lands at 8 nutrition — the same as a cooked steak.

Cheese60.67.2
Rotten Cheese Slice20.10.4Hunger I for 10 seconds

The rotten slice is not a separate recipe — it is what a fermentation barrel occasionally hands you instead of real cheese.

Drinks

ItemNutritionSat. modifierSaturation restoredNotes
Cup of Tea60.67.2
Maple Syrup40.43.2drunk, not eaten
Apple Juice40.32.4
Grape Juice40.32.4always edible, alcoholic
Cup of Coffee40.32.4always edible — see below
Wine20.10.4always edible, alcoholic
Beer20.10.4always edible, alcoholic

Anything marked alcoholic applies the Tipsy and Drunk effects — see the fermentation barrel page.

Cups of coffee are a special case

The plain Cup of Coffee item has the 4 / 0.3 values above, but a cup brewed in the Coffee Machine ignores them entirely. Its nutrition, saturation and Speed duration are written onto the individual cup when it is brewed, based on the ingredients you used. Two cups of coffee sitting side by side can be worth completely different amounts.

Cake blocks

These are placed as blocks and eaten a bite at a time by right-clicking them.

BlockBitesPer bite
Strawberry Shortcake82 nutrition, 0.1 sat. modifier
Sachertorte42 nutrition, 0.1 sat. modifier

Sandwiches

A sandwich has no fixed value at all — it is built layer by layer on a kitchen cupboard and its nutrition is the sum of what went into it. See Sandwiches.

Defined but not obtainable yet

A few food values exist in the mod’s code without a way to get the item in survival. They are listed here so the table is complete, not because you can eat them today:

  • Soda — 6 nutrition, 0.5 modifier, plus Absorption II for 10 seconds. No item is registered for it.
  • Ice Cube (as a food) — 1 nutrition, 0.4 modifier. The Ice Cube you can actually get is the placeable block, used as a coffee ingredient, and is not edible.
  • Cup of Coffee with Maple Syrup — 5 nutrition, 0.8 modifier, always edible. Superseded by the coffee machine writing values per cup.

Waffle, Cornbread, Pancakes (the stacked plate) and Apple Juice have food values and are in the creative menu, but currently have no crafting recipe or machine that produces them. The single Pancake is fine — it comes off a hob with a pan and a Batter.
