Acceptance of terms
Luma is a personal-utility app for Windows, Linux, and Android, built and distributed independently rather than by a company. By downloading, installing, or using Luma, you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't install or use the app.
No warranty
Luma is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
No guarantee is made that Luma will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defect will be corrected. You use the app entirely at your own risk.
Feature-specific risks
Luma bundles several tools that touch sensitive data or make irreversible changes. Each carries its own risk, and none of them come with a guarantee:
-
Finance tracking
Budgets, pots, and stock figures are for personal organization only. Luma is not a bank, broker, or accountant, and is not responsible for financial decisions, losses, or missed obligations resulting from its use.
-
Password vault
The vault is a local, encrypted store — not a managed or recoverable service. If you lose your device, your vault key, or the app's local data, Luma cannot recover your stored credentials, and is not liable for any resulting loss of access.
-
File conversion & corruption tools
The converter, schematic tools, and the intentional file-corruptor/fixer modify or transform files you provide. Always work from a copy. Luma is not liable for damaged, corrupted, or unrecoverable files, including files processed by the corruption tool.
-
Device health
Health readings and suggestions are informational only, drawn from local system queries. They are not a diagnosis of hardware failure and should not be the sole basis for a decision to replace, repair, or continue using hardware.
Your data & backups
Most of Luma's data — finance records, notes, passwords, datasets — lives locally on your device, with optional end-to-end encrypted sync to a server if you choose to enable it.
Not professional advice
Nothing in Luma — including AI Assistant responses, financial summaries, or device health readings — constitutes financial, legal, medical, or professional advice of any kind. Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything material to your finances, health, or legal position.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Luma's developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable law, it is limited to the greatest extent that law allows.
Your responsibility
You agree to use Luma responsibly and at your own risk, and to indemnify and hold harmless Luma's developer from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your use of the app, your data, or your violation of these terms.
Changes to the app & terms
Luma is actively developed. Features, plugins, and these terms may change between releases without prior notice. Continuing to use the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
Governing terms
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Luma's developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent your local law permits.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised via GitHub Issues on the luma-app repository. See also the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
This document is a general disclaimer template and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It is provided to reduce — not eliminate — risk, and should not be treated as a substitute for legal advice specific to your jurisdiction and situation.
